Boko Haram: Jigawa police to provide 24-hour surveillance in schools

In view of attacks on schools, the Jigawa State police command has ordered a 24-hour surveillance and patrol in all secondary schools across the state .
The state’s Commissioner of Police, Mr. Kayode Theophilus, made the disclosure on Friday while at a security meeting between police, officials of the Ministry of Education and school principals held on Friday in Dutse.

He said with the experience of neighbouring Yobe State, it became necessary for police to take appropriate actions to ensure safety of the future generation.

The commissioner directed all the area commanders and DPOs to collaborate with authorities and all stake holders and make their phone number available for easy communication and crackdown on any strange movement deemed to constitute a security threat.
