Lagos State’s deportation spree has taken a new dimension as
state officials announce the decision to deport Big Brother Africa housemate,
Beverly Osu, once the reality show ends or when she is voted out - which ever
comes first.
This follows the controversy created when the state
allegedly deported poor people who where found to not be paying any form of
state taxes.
The decision to deport Miss Osu, according the special
assistant on deportation, is based on the negative image the young lady has
given to the youth of the state.
According to the civil servant, unlike Miss Osu, the youth
of Lagos, particularly young women, do not engage in premarital sex. That she,
Miss Osu, openly talks about former sexual relationships and actually
participated in one in the Big Brother house demonstrates that she is not truly
a Lagosian. For this reason, the state has reached the decision to deport her
should she try to return to the state.
The official, however, hinted that the state government may
decide to show mercy and accept her back into the Lagos community to be
rehabilitated, on the condition that she immediately joins a Redeem Church on
her return to Nigeria. This olive branch, the PA said, would be extended to
Miss Osu should she win the reality game show.
