Live What You Are

Over the years, I've been involved in several charitable works across Africa and one issue has always stuck with me all the time, we could use more hands. One advice I render to fellow volunteers is that we must never just advocate and argue for what we value; we must live it. In My Country, Nigeria, millions of individuals are hungry, sick, helpless and economically disadvantaged daily yet in all these realities, all we do is wish them well. Irrespective of this inequality facing us, Government still plays an idle role and it is up to each and every citizen to be of aid to one another through donor organizations. We must not just wish for good and talk about it, we must live it.

Fellow brethren Devoting each individual moment of your life to what you sincerely care about (It could be causes such as Hunger, HIV/AIDS, Malaria) raises your hopes, dreams and values towards consistently living them. There is a certain unmatched joy that stems in me each time I see someone I've aided. You can have mountains of money and possessions and still be very poor. Life’s real richness is not about what you have, but rather about how much authentic goodness and fulfilment you express. Living well is not the same as living easy and carefree. Being truly rich does not come from being comfortable and frugal, nor does it enable you to avoid responsibility. How much of impact are you giving?

It is impossible to deceive life, so there’s no point in even trying hard towards doing so. Instead Folks, let's put our energy and effort into gainful and generous living. This year, Hungry and malnutritious people worldwide reduced from 935 million to 800 million. Though more work is needed, this shows it is gradually taking its foot out of the world. The joy that this information brings to us is indescribable knowing you've been a part. No matter what situation you’re in, you can live it with a focus on what truly matters to you. Every day, there are countless ways to put the beauty of your unique perspective into meaningful action. Look out there Folks and live what you are.
