Emotion ran high recently at the Bar Beach Police Division in Lagos following revelation by a teenage girl of how her 57-year-old father, Mr Nwafor Ikoro, had been forcefully having intercoursé with her in the last three months, while giving her N200 as pocket money to school.

Unsure of who to confide in, she said she told her mother during one of her visits only for the father to dismiss the claim, stating that he could not bring himself that low as to having cárnal knowledge of his own biological daughter. But the bubble later burst…

The girl [names withheld] summoned courage and told her head teacher what daddy used to do to her every night. It was the head teacher who contacted the police, leading to Mr Nwafor Ikoro’s arrest.

The teenage girl, who was made to start her education from primary five when her mother brought her back to her father after some years of separation, disclosed more during interrogation.

She said: “When I was reunited with my father, I was happy because I was living with an aunt in the village since my parents separated. He usually told me that I would take the place of my mother in his life since my mother had divorced him. I did not know what he meant until he started having cárnal knowledge of me at night.

“At a point, I got tired and insulted him. Then, he started béating me and changed his loving nature. He would béat me and stríp me náked and have his way whenever he wanted.

“When I attempted to scream, he would hit me harder and cover my mouth. He later apologized, telling me he would buy me a car. All I want at the moment is for my father to be punished for what he did to me.”

In his defense, her dad, Mr Nwafor Ikoro, described his daughter’s claim as mere allegation. He said he only béat her after he discovered she was in an ámorous relationship with an unnamed man.

But police suspected that the father was lying and charged him to the Igbosere Magistrate Court. Mr Nwafor Ikoro has been remanded in prison custody until his application bail would be considered.

BBA Star Prezzo Wanted by Kenyan Police for Assaulting Military Officer

Former Big Brother Africa (BBA) star, Jackson Makini well known as Prezzo, has a case to answer with the Kenyan police. He was alleged to have assaulted a Swiss soldier in the head with a gun and had also allegedly threatened to shoot the same officer while he was still bleeding in pain.

The incident reportedly happened on Saturday morning outside Aqua Bar in Kenya. The police it has gone to Prezzo’s house but he was no where to be found as at that time.

An argument reportedly occurred between the believed ‘lover’ of late Goldie at the BBA house in 2012 over a parking lot.

The Gigiri Division police chief, Vitalis Otieno explained that, “when the military officer came back ready to go, an argument broke out over the parking slot which degenerated to an assault using a gun. We want him to report at Parklands”

Prezzo was reportedly prevented from further assault on the military officer by his bodyguards who dragged him into his car and drove off.

The incident left the victims unable to fly to Ethiopia on Saturday due to treatment he received at the hospital.

OVER 67000 HIV POSITIVE PERSONS RECEIVING FREE TREATMENT IN BENUE STATE

Over 67,000 People Living with HIV/AIDS, PLWHAS are currently receiving free treatment and care in designated centers established by the Benue state government.

Benue state Commissioner for Health and Human Services, Dr. Orduen Abunku disclosed this yesterday at the   year’s ministerial press briefing, organised by the Benue state council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, under the auspices of Benue State Ministry of Information.

Dr. Abunku said, “state government has also scaled up its treatment and care centres for People Living with HIV/AIDS, PLWHAS, from 23 treatment sites in 2011 to 47 as at May, 2013.

This centres are currently reaching out to about 67,000 persons as at May 2013 in the state government’s renewed onslaught against the disease across the state.”

According to the Commissioner, “Benue State Aids Control Agency, BENSACA has also been charged with the responsibility of coordinating a state wide HIV response as part of efforts to drive down the scourge in Benue.

”Its goal is to reduce HIV and AIDS incidence and prevalence by at least 25 percent and provide equitable prevention, care treatment and support services while mitigating its impact among women, youths, children and other vulnerable groups and the general population in Benue state by 2015.”

Dr. Abunku stressed that the renewed onslaught includes “increase awarenes of the general public on the benefit of HIV counseling and testing and anti-retroviral therapy as well as the increased intakes of HIV   and AIDS services and products in the communities which has greatly facilitated the achievements that have been recorded sor far.”

In addition, he said “BENSACA, has been charged to collaborate with relevant agencies including SEV-AV Foundation, a pet project of the Wife of the Benue State Governor, Arc. Mrs. Yemisi Suswam, in the area of skills acquisition training for PLWHAS, especially as it relates to women development and training.”

But the question on the lips of everyone is whether these celebrities have found true happiness after all, and if they do, how much has the pulpit paid off, in place of dumping their flourishing careers in acting for the work of God. Like the Biblical saying, “When we come to the Word of God and we pray over His Word, when His Word shines on us, we are exposed and emptied of any other thing.”

Zack Orji

Ex-President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria,AGN, Zack Orji can be described as “a gentleman without blemish.”  This, no doubt informed his decision to become a worker in the Vineyard of God. Zack Orji ordained a full-time evangelist by Bishop Emma Isong of Christian Central Chapel International (CCCI).

He is said to have dedicated his time to preaching the gospel of good tidings across the nations of the world. The veteran actor has been spotted in such cities as Abuja, Nasarawa and Makurdi where he is engaged in various evangelical activities. But this, however, has not stopped him from storming the celebrity hangout, in Surulere to fraternize with his friends and colleagues in the movie industry.

In fact, Eucheria Anunobi’s conversion was the most talked about conversion to Christ in recent times. The actress who ruled the screen in the early 90s with her role in the film “Glamour Girls” has been trailed with many controversies and scandals, most of which bothered on her relationships and crashed marriage. But after many years of being in the news for the wrong reasons, Eucheria shocked her fans when she announced she had given her life to Christ. Few months after the announcement, UK was ordained at the Fresh Oil Ministry, Egbeda, Lagos, as an evangelist.

Interestingly, with her ordination which was performed by Pastor Psalm Okpe, Eucharia willed the power to preach as a pastor and she’s doing so, without looking back. Those in the know said, she already counsels youths in the church and travels at random to spread the gospel of salvation.

This, however, has not taken away some of the traits that made her fans term her “a bad girl” before her transformation. She is still flashy and daring. Just weeks after the ordination, Eucheria bought a brand new  BMW X5. Severally, she has refuted reports that she has abandoned her acting career for the work of God. Instead, she pointed out that she would be choosier in accepting roles in movies.

Pat Attah

Pat Attah? That play boy actor who broke the hearts of many ‘Nollywood babes’ during his time, and left as soon as the ovation was loud. The once-upon-a-dreadlock-turned clean cut actor, is currently based in Hamburg, Germany where he’s winning souls for Christ. Those in the know said, he does not preach in churches, rather he is now very much a born-again.

Many knew him before he left the shores of the country  as one who was close to the ladies and in love with the bottle. Today, reading his posts online, one would acknowledge the fact that Pat is a new creature in Christ. He often uses social network sites including Facebook to deliver his sermon and messages to those who care to read them. But what we don’t know is how he has been faring over there.

Elizabeth Benson, popularly known as Liz Benson used to be the toast of many lovers of Nigerian films and TV series. Her journey into stardom began when she appeared on the set of the popular television soap opera, Fortunes, in 1993. Liz Benson played the part of Mrs. Agnes Johnson in the soap, which ran for about two years on the NTA. After that, she acted in various TV series and many movies.

Charles Okafor who staged a comeback to Nollywood recently in Uche Jombo’s film, “Misplaced” after disappearing from the radar is also one of the actors that are winning souls for Christ. He used to act alongside Saint Obi, Zack Orji and Richard Mofe Damijo and has made a name for himself before  disappearing from the scene.

The UNIPORT trained actor who starred in such films as Forest of Promises, Ocean Deep, Across the River, Between Love, Boiling Point, and Executive Connection, worked briefly with the Security and Exchange Commission, before resigning to go into full time acting. Recently, he was spotted at a filling station around Isolo area of Lagos, and from the way, he looked, the handsome actor has surely given up the things of this world.

Okechukwu Ogunjiofor is known to be the founder of Nollywood. He produced the film, living in Bondage which gave birth to Nollywood.  With the explosion of this movie in 1992, Nollywood prides itself today as second to the largest movie industry in the world after 20 years of its existence. The 2013 Miss World pageant held today Saturday September 28th at Bali Nusa Dua Convention Center in Bali, Indonesia. Miss Philippines Megan Young (pictured left) beat 126 other contestants to win Miss World 2013. Miss France Marine Lorphelin was named runner-up, while Miss Ghana Carranzar Naa Okailey Shooter came third.

Our attention has yet been drawn to the unscrupulous elements who are continuously seeking ways of denting the image of our reputable client, Femi Adebayo, a Nollywood actor/producer-cum-founder of J-15 School of Performing Arts. Femi,one of the sons of veteran actor Adebayo Salami aka Oga Bello, has always been a good ambassador of the Yoruba movie industry which his father is a pioneer of. On Sunday, 3rd August 2013, a call was placed to Femi Adebayo by an unknown journalist who claimed to be a blogger. The blackmailer interrogated him on a purported allegation that he reportedly collected the sum of 8 million naira from a woman called Lara who is based outside the country. This has come as a shock to our client.

The 8 million naira is said to be money for a movie production for her which Femi Adebayo was never involved in at any point till this moment. The blogger also alleged the unknown Lara is romantically linked to Femi – these claims Femi has said there is nothing of such nature.

Subsequently, another journalist who claimed to be an entertainment reporter also called Femi Adebayo on Thursday, 8th August 2013, at about 8pm in respect of the unpalatable allegation which he admitted was a fallacy. Not only that, the journalist threatened him over the story.

Sequel to this, the lawyer-turned-actor aka Jelili has debunked the allegations through his publicist, Mr. Gbolahan Adetayo that he has never done any business with anyone outside the country in relation to the mentioned claims:” I have never collected any kobo from any woman outside the country to shoot a movie for her. I have been shooting big-budget movies in the past which I sponsored from my personal purse or by my markerters. Just of recent, I shot 4 blockbuster movies and music videos – they are Sonto Alapata, Buga, Ila and Fuji Tabi Theatre together with other actors and music stars”.

He further disclosed that:” I have released 3 out of the 4 and the fourth one “Ila” will hit the shelves soonest. When I was called by a blogger-cum-journalist to ask me about the story, I told him there is nothing like that. If there is any evidence to prove it, let the person bluntly come out to show the world. I saw no evidence of truth in his purported claims. I have been in the industry now for a while, dishing out my things excellently. So I don’t know where the bad belles are cooking up their false news from”.

Femi Adebayo is an award-winning popular Yoruba actor who is highly sought-after in the industry. He has endeared himself to many with his skillful interpretation of roles. He is an actor who has continued to train upcoming actors at his Ibadan-based J-15 Drama School.

Mr James Ani, a Priest arrested for robbery and kidnapping

Imeohia Mmaku village in Awgu Local Government Area of Enugu State recently came under siege of suspected robbers cum kidnappers who invaded the community to perpetrate their heinous crime. On the fateful day, a priest allegedly led some notorious gang of robbers/kidnappers to carry out their crime.

While carrying out the operation, the gang sealed off all entrances and exits to the agrarian community. Clad in a white cassock, Rev. Fr. James Ani, in company with about eight other people held the community by the jugular and laid siege on their prey.

Also, it was reported that the gang combed parts of the community to see if they could find a prime target on which they could feed. But while the siege lasted, a team of anti- robbery patrol team usually on routine checks on remote parts of the state was passing by and accosted the gang. On seeing the police team, Fr. Ani reportedly commanded his ‘troops’ to launch offensive. Wielding several dangerous weapons, the suspected robbers reportedly engaged the police team in fierce duel which further sent habitants of the community and travellers scampering for safety.

During the clash, Fr. Ani and his gang reportedly got hold of one Inspector Cosmas Nzeribe and a couple of his colleagues, and almost sniffed life out of them. However, the suspected robbers bowed to the superior firepower of the law enforcement agents leading to their arrest. Before they were arrested, the hoodlums damaged the two vehicles used by the law enforcement agents.

The vehicles were a Toyota Corolla saloon car with registration number ENUGU XY 770 ENU and another Toyota Toyota Corolla car with registration number KPP 450 XA. In the end, Ani and three others; Ugwu Marcel, Obasi Felix and Norbert Eke were arrested and taken to custody. About five other members of the gang reportedly fled from the scene of the attack. A manhunt has already been launched for the fleeing suspects. An eye witness, who identified himself as Okey, told reporters the law enforcement agents would have been killed but for Providence.

According to the truck driver, “I ply this road very often and I can tell you that most travellers had had harrowing experiences to share about this place. It is such a bad spot and when the robbers were arrested and we saw a supposed man of God among them, not many of us were surprised because we had experienced that before in this area.

Criminals would put on cloths meant for the clergymen to rob people. Thank God, this one was caught.” A resident of the community, who declined to give his name also lamented to reporters the agony of inhabitants of the village and travellers on the hands of men of the underworld. “Robbers attack the community almost on a daily basis. Most times, they target travellers and on some occasions, citizens of the community had been dispossessed of their valuables. It is great news that these set of robbers were arrested by the police. Let us hope that this would bring the end to the incessant cases of armed robbery and kidnapping in the area,” he said.

At the time of arrest, Ani reportedly informed security operatives that he was not a robber but a priest. However, upon intense interrogation, he confessed to his crime, saying that he was pushed into the crime due to lull in his business.

Spokesman for the Enugu State Police Command, Ebere Amaraizu, who confirmed the arrest of the four suspected robbers, maintained that investigations are ongoing while a manhunt had been launched for the fleeing suspects. “The Commissioner of Police has said it many times that there is no hiding place for criminals again in Enugu.

This statement he is matching with actions which are evident in the arrest of the four suspects. Imagine someone supposed to be a man of God, being the ring leader in such a crime!” she said. Amaraizu also informed that the four suspects would be charged to court upon completion of investigations into their crimes.

Nigerian-Born Accountant Tolu Kalejaiye Found Dead In Her UK four Bedroom Home

A son was today arrested on suspicion of murder after his mother was found dead in their home.

Police were called to a large £350,000 four-bedroom property in Wickford, Essex, at about 10am where they discovered the body of a woman named locally as 46-year-old accountant Tolu Kalejaiye.

Her son, who is aged 21, was arrested shortly after and remained in custody tonight. Neighbours said they had been told the mother was stabbed to death, but it was not confirmed how she died.

More than 10 of Mrs Kalejaiye’s friends and family stood in tears this afternoon outside the family home, which remained cordoned off whilst a team of forensic officers worked inside the property.

Michael Day, 57, her neighbour on the quiet road, said: ‘I left my house at just gone 9.30am and when I came back 10 minutes later, there was all this commotion.

‘People were running around on the grass outside on their phones and it was all very chaotic. Police cars were quickly on the scene and then the police helicopter was overhead.’

Mr Day described Mrs Kalejaiye as ‘pleasant’, saying that he would only usually see her on Sunday mornings when she went to church. ‘She would wave when she saw me,’ he added.

According to her Facebook profile, Mrs Kalejaiye is engaged, studied accounting and finance at Middlesex University in Hendon, north London, and is originally from Abeokuta in Nigeria.

She had also been involved in a successful campaign with other neighbours to establish village green status for the small area of grass at the front of her home.

An Essex Police spokesman said: ‘Detectives are investigating the death of a woman in Wickford. Officers were called shortly after 10am today after neighbours reported concerns for a resident at a house in Wethersfield Way.

‘Officers attended and found the body of a woman in her 40s. The death is being treated as suspicious.

‘A cordon is in place around the property. A 21-year-old man has been arrested.

Stop faking good sex it may ruin your marriage

Many couples believe that when it comes to good sex, if you can’t beat them surely you can join them. They fake everything about sex from the beginning to the end. After many rounds of faking, sex becomes predictable and discarded. Some couples fight to regain the spark back and make blue films their guiding light but yet after a while they wonder; no explosions of passion. No breathy proclamations of desire, no tumultuous climax.

How can everyone in movies be having fiery, combustible sex when we barely create a spark?

Relax. Do you know that TV shows and movies give us this much lopsided representation of what sex is supposed to be like.  Everyone seems to be climaxing and having orgasms all the time from whatever they’re doing. They make you believe something is wrong with you or your spouse. Sex in the real world isn’t always perfect, and it doesn’t have to always end with an earth-shattering climax. Real-life sex can almost never measure up to the passion portrayed on the screen. Because films don’t talk about the fact that it’s likely that in an odd position, the acting couples pass gas or the love of their life has bad breath while they kiss. Or the shape and weight of their spouse is a big hindrance.

Even when everything else in the relationship is working, sexual styles aren’t always compatible. You like long foreplay sessions. Your spouse may be ready to go in an instant. You long for wet, sensual kisses. He prefers dry, chaste pecks. Sex is not just naturally perfect most time.

The mistake many couples make is expecting the energy, sexual excitement, eagerness and the passion of their sex life when their relationship was still new to continue for ever. But as time goes on they forget that it is better to learn how to dance together and bump noses or knees instead of faking passion and orgasm.

Sometimes, the problem is a physical one, such as premature ejaculation. Or it may be that the stress from your job is bleeding over into the bedroom and disrupting your sex life. In those cases it can help to see a sex therapist. If you’re faking sex, you’re doing yourselves a disservice because you do not understand what really turns you both on. If you’re still unsatisfied, you may wonder if it is ever OK to fake it in bed. Faking sex will eventually take a toll on the relationship and your spouse is going to realise that you’re disconnected. And when the other party notices a disconnection, many things happen to the relationship. 8 fake corpers sent to prison

Nemesis has caught up with eight fake members of the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, after they were arrested, charged to court  and ordered to be remanded in prison custody.

Chief Magistrate Ramatu Gulma of the Wuse Zone 2 Magistrates’ Court on Thursday also directed the Defence Counsel, Mrs Ijeoma Utchay, to apply formally for the bail of the accused, and adjourned the case till 25 November for hearing.

The chief magistrate also ordered for a one-week hearing on the case, starting from 25 November, to ease the transportation of the accused as they do not reside within the FCT.

The accused are Agatha Azuma, Amarachukwu Okoro, Nicholas Eze, Blessing Samuel, Wisdom Nwoke, Paulyn Worgu, Cordelia Ugwuata and Blessing Duru.

The Prosecutor, Mr Moses Idakwo, of the State Security Service (SSS), objected to the bail application.

He said that the first accused, Azuma, had, on 21 January, presented herself to Patrick Orem, a mobilisation officer at the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Maitama, for mobilisation.

Idakwo said Azuma claimed to be a graduate of Manonmamian Sundaranar University, India.

He also said that the second accused, Okoro, had superimposed an Indian visa bearing her name on an old Nigerian international passport, which had a United Kingdom visa belonging to Dada Ajoke.

Idakwo said Okoro also had, as part of her credentials, a fake degree certificate and transcript from the said university and a fake National Examination Council (NECO) result.

The prosecutor said the officer raised doubts on the credentials and reported to the SSS for investigations.

He said it was discovered during investigation that Azuma paid N70,000, which was part payment of an agreed N150,000 to the third accused, Eze, for the said credentials.

Idakwo said that Eze and  Ikechukwu Izuchukwu, who is currently at large, conspired to prepare the documents.

Investigations into the matter further revealed that Eze had furnished about 30 persons, most of them now at large, with  same credentials for NYSC mobilisation.

He said the suspects paid between N50,000 and N120,000 to the accused for the said papers.

Idakwo said the remaining accused were arrested with similar fake documents.

He said that Eze, who served in Kaduna State in 2007, also presented fake certificate of the said university.

The prosecutor said the offence contravened sections 97, 364, 368, 322, 132,133 and 325 of the Penal Code

Popular NTA news anchor, Mrs Seun Olagunju, safely delivered her first son yesterday in New York.

Her husband, Rivers State FRSC commander, Dr Kayode Olagunju who recently turned 50 is the happiest man alive.

They have been trying to have a son all these years and God has finally answered their prayers. 

Seun and Kayode Olagunju already have 3 lovely girls and they had their last child 10 years ago and had no intention of having kids again until she got pregnant early this year. Congrats..

The only child of Tastee Fried Chicken boss Mrs Olayinka Adebayo, Olubunmi Adedayo has passed away. Bunmi, who until his death was the executive director of TFC, died yesterday September 24th in the US. Heard he fell ill here in Nigeria and was flown to the US for treatment where he died.

He's survived by his parents, wife and two kids. May his soul rest in peace...amen.

Magazine to pay Governor Adams Oshiomhole N25m over published false story of impregnanting a student

A Benin High Court has awarded Edo State Governor, Adams Oshiomhole, N25million as damages in a libel suit he instituted against the publishers of News of the People, a soft sell weekly magazine. Governor Oshiomhole had dragged the soft sell weekly magazine to court demanding N250million as damages over their report with the headline: ‘Oshiomhole’s sex power exposed: Impregnates young girl six months after death of wife.”

The magazine had reported that Governor Oshiomhole impregnated a student of the state-owned, Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma, bought the said girl a jeep and interfered in the academic activities of Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma, on behalf of the girl, adding that Governor Oshiomole used sexual performance enhancement drugs and that he had performed traditional marriage rites precedent to marriage between him and the said girl.

The governor told the court that he demanded damages because the said  publication caused him and his children psychological trauma, six months after the death of his wife, as the libelous piece was widely circulated, to coincide with preparations for one of his daughter’s wedding.

He said:

“When I called a brother governor to sponsor my daughter’s wedding, the governor said he was confused, and asked me if I was the one doing the marriage or my daughter. He added that he was reading a magazine which said that I was about getting married to a university student, and that the said wife-to-be was already pregnant.”

In his judgment, the trial Judge, Justice Efe Ikponmwen, also ordered the magazine to publish a well-worded retraction and apology in a similarly conspicous manner in an edition of the magazine.

He held that the governor’s evidence proved that the magazine’s publication was libelous, and that even though the public has a right to know about a public officer, such information should be in line with the law and must not be in bad light.

Lamar Odom Slams Father For Saying Kardashians Are To Be Blamed For The NBA Player’s Downfall

Lamar Odom and Khloe Kardashian might be going through a rough patch in their marital life, but Odom has shown that he will not tolerate anyone, especially his family, bashing the Kardashians.

Through a tweet on Tuesday, Odom defended the Kardashians, whom his father, Joe, blamed for the downfall of the NBA player.

“I have let this man and many others get away with a lot of shit,” Odom wrote. “He wasn't there 2 raise me. He was absent ALL of my life due to his own demons. My mother and grandmother raised me. Queens raised me. For the first time since they left, came a blessing of a FAMILY that I married into. FAMILY.”

Joe, in a no-holds barred interview with Radar Online published on Tuesday, said that the Kardashians put too much pressure on Odom with their various reality shows, prompting him to turn to drugs. He even called Kris Jenner, Kardashian’s mother, “an evil b*tch” and dismissed Kim Kardashian as a “porn star.” Joe added that he believed Odom has been cursed ever since he became a part of the Kardashian household after marrying Khloe in 2009.

Bashing his father for these comments, Odom wrote on Twitter that Joe was not invited to his wedding and that he has never met Kris Jenner or some of the other members of the Kardashian clan, and so has no right to badmouth them.

“He disrespecting the ONLY FAMILY that has loved me without expecting anything in return. They are the ONLY ones that have been here consistently 4 me during this dark time. According to information, the cause of Prince's death is still unclear but sources said he died after a brief illness two days ago.

SOWANBE:Lagosians spend N36billion annually on parties - Governor Fashola

Lagos state governor, Babatunde Raji Fashola, this weekend revealed that more than N36 billion is spent by Lagosians annually to organise parties. The governor said this at the 4th edition of the Lagos Ignite Enterprise and Employability project, a joint youth empowerment programme between the government and the Afterschool Graduate Development Centre, AGDC.

Governor Fashola said:

“This was the study of night life carried out by the government in five local governments including Agege, Mushin, Ifako-Ijaiye and Ikeja and another local government. It showed that more than N36 billion was spent on 1555 parties held within the period. We did a study between October and November last year. We studied from Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights, three days every week for four weeks which was 12 nights. In 12 nights, 1555 parties were held in these local governments. In terms of drinks, food and all other engagements during such parties, about N1.2 billion was spent and when we dis-aggregated them we saw how much went to DJ, MC, food and drinks, the total picture in the state now and I don’t want to give you a wrong number but it’s something in the region of about N3 billion monthly on that side of our life and people are playing and impacting on that side of our economy.

 The governor further stated that Aso Ebi alone gulped a minimum of N1.2billion monthly.
